Rain returns this evening to Metro Detroit with rounds through the weekend

Strong to severe storms possible on Friday

4WARN WEATHER – Mainly dry conditions today as clouds thicken, but have an umbrella nearby later tonight.

As clouds win out today, high temperatures will be near average in the low 80s. Shower potential increases this evening and continues overnight.

Chance for thunderstorms Friday

The best chance for thunderstorms is expected midday Friday and Friday night, with isolated severe storms possible.

There is the potential for showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. Showers are likely with a chance of thunderstorms Friday and Friday night as a low pressure system tracks into the great lakes.

The main threats will be damaging wind gusts to 60 mph and large hail to 1″ diameter.

Heavy downpours from stronger storms may lead to localized flooding. Any storms that develop will move from southwest to northeast around 30 to 35 mph.
