Summer is not relinquishing as temps, humidity rise in Metro Detroit

Saturday, Sunday highs in upper 80s

After the return of normal temperatures to end the workweek, it will get hotter than average this weekend.

Friday night, we will have an increase in clouds. Overnight lows will be around 60 degrees.

High-pressure systems will influence our weather this weekend.

Saturday

If you plan to attend a parade, mow the lawn, or tailgate, have sunglasses and a hat. Lots of sunshine will be back for Saturday morning. Under partly cloudy skies, daytime temperatures will rise into the mid 80s. Although the humidity will increase slightly, it will not be problematic. Winds will be southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Skies will remain partly cloudy on Saturday night as temperatures fall to the lower to mid 60s.

Sunday

Sunday, it will be partly cloudy with the chance of a stray shower. Most of Southeast Michigan should expect to stay dry. The chance for showers looks to be higher in West Michigan and Ohio. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s, and the heat index will be near 90 degrees. Overnight temperatures will fall to the mid to upper 60s.

Monday

Monday will be partly cloudy, hot, and humid. Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, while the heat index will reach the lower 90s. Monday night, it will be partly to mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be hot, but Southeast Michigan will have a slight chance of rain showers as the cold front approaches and crosses over the region. Highs will be around 90 degrees, but the heat index will push as high as the mid 90s. Lows will be in the mid 60s to 70 degrees.

Wednesday through Friday

A low chance of showers will continue into Wednesday and Thursday, and the chance will increase for Friday. Following the spike on thermometers, temperatures will return to near normal by the end of the next week.
