4Warn Weather – The dry stretch of weather we’ve seen as of late will continue as we look ahead through the majority of the weekend, as summer heat and humidity returns looking ahead into the weekend as well.
For Saturday, plenty of sunshine, and a little cloud cover to stick around throughout the day. High temperatures heading into the mid to upper 80s by the afternoon, but it will start to feel more like summer as the humidity creeps in throughout the day as well.
Looking ahead to the end of the weekend on Sunday, we are going to watch a week disturbance will roll into the region. This may trigger a few thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening, but the thunderstorms will not be widespread. So do not cancel the outdoor plans, just have a back up plan. Should you get under one of those thunderstorms. High temperatures heading for the upper 80s by Sunday afternoon.
Dry weather will stick around things to an upper level ridge of high-pressure looking ahead into early next week on Monday, and that will take our high temperatures into the upper 80s and lower 90s by the afternoon, and expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds to stick around.
Looking ahead into the middle of next week, we start to bring the active weather back into the forecast. Chances of rain are back in the forecast from Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to a cold front that will move through the region, and that could include thunderstorm chances. We’re also tracking the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms on Tuesday as well.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire State of Michigan under a 15% chance for severe thunderstorms in their Day 4 Severe Weather Outlook. This would equate to a Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms. We will continue to track the potential for any severe weather over the next few days.
Once that moves off to the east, we are looking at a few other disturbances that will roll through into the end of the week, keeping the chances of rain showers end of the forecast all the way through Friday. High temperatures into the middle 80s on Wednesday, will drop into the load at 80s Thursday and Friday with some cooler air working into the region thanks to those weak disturbances and rain chances.

Tracking the tropics
The Atlantic Basin is relatively quiet for the moment, but we may see some activity develop there in the next week or two heading into September.
Over in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Hone is heading towards the Hawaiian Island Chain where a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the Big Island of Hawaii (Hawaii County) as they will see some strong winds and rainfall from Hone as it passes south of the Island Chain into early next week.
Tropical Storm Watches are up for the waters surrounding most of the Island Chain but not the land areas themselves.
