Hot weather continues over the next few days. Heat indices will be in the mid-90s this afternoon, before increasing humidity pushes heat indices to around the 100 degree mark tomorrow. Overall, we should be partly cloudy but you can never rule out a bubble up, Florida-like, shower with this kind of heat and humidity.

The chance for thunderstorms, some strong, will increase late Tuesday morning. There is a slight (Level 2 out of 5) risk for severe weather for all of Southeast Michigan on Tuesday. There remains low confidence in the exact evolution of thunderstorm development. The first round looks to be a bit weaker late morning through the lunch hour, if not dissipating before getting here. If thunderstorms hold together, damaging wind gusts will be the main weather hazard. There will be a secondary window for development in the mid-afternoon and evening which may also bring a severe weather threat. All storm hazards (damaging wind gusts, hail to an inch, an isolated tornado) would be possible with afternoon activity.
Meanwhile, expect a temperatures to stay in the low 90s through Wednesday. Heat indices are expected to be around 100 degrees tomorrow as humidity increases through the day. Be sure to practice heat safety where you live.
