4Warn Weather – The severe weather threat for Tuesday evening is over, but more storms are possible on Wednesday.
The line of storms that moved through Metro Detroit this afternoon has now moved out of Metro Detroit, ending our threat of severe weather.
Win gusts reached up to 70 mph, and penny size hail caused numerous problems across the area.
Large trees and down power lines appear to be the biggest problem.
Hundreds of thousands are without power as another day of heat and humidity is ahead for Wednesday.
There were no tornadoes, but many cities sounded their sirens to warn residents about the damaging wind gusts. To see if your city warns about tornadoes or severe thunderstorms, click here.
Unfortunately, Tuesday’s storms did little to change the hot, humid air mass in place.
Wednesday
Wednesday will be slightly cooler than Tuesday by about four-five degrees. But when you factor in the humidity it will still feel like it’s in the 90s.
There is still a chance of thunderstorms throughout the day, but most if not all will be non-severe.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed Lenawee and Monroe counties at marginal risk, but the rest of Metro Detroit is outside the risk area.
There is relief in sight, but not before another round of storms comes in on Friday. Let’s talk about it at 11 p.m.
