4WARN WEATHER – A heat advisory goes in effect today for most of Southeast Michigan for heat indices around 100 degrees. Actual temperatures expected to climb into the low to mid-90s. A line of thunderstorms will move in across SE Michigan this morning. Lightning, heavy downpours and hail will be possible with thunderstorm activity. The line of thunderstorms may wane in intensity and coverage through the morning as they move ESE from the west side of the state, so not everyone close to Detroit will see them.
SUNRISE: 6:54 AM
There is a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe weather this afternoon and evening. Confidence remains low regarding timing and evolution of any thunderstorm development this afternoon and evening, as there will be multiple factors for possible thunderstorm development. The overall timeframe is generally 2PM to Midnight, but model data has a better grasp of these developing after sunset. Any storms observed may become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts and hail to an inch or greater as the main severe weather threats. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
SUNSET: 8:15 PM
Meanwhile, expect temperatures to stay in the low 90s through Wednesday. Shower and thunderstorm chances will continue on Wednesday before surface high pressure builds into the region for the end of the work week.
