Here’s when Metro Detroit could see another round of severe storms

Cold front brings chance for severe storms on Friday

4Warn Weather – Another sticky start to the morning as humidity lingers. Some low-lying areas could be waking up to haze or fog.

We’re finally catching a break from the rounds of storms this week, but unfortunately this break will be rather brief. Mainly dry today with a very low chance for a stray shower. Highs will be seasonal, around 80, under mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies. Near 90 degree heat and humidity returns tomorrow.

Sunrise is at 6:56 a.m. and sunset is at 8:11 p.m.

Showers and thunderstorms are looking likely Friday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, mainly after 4PM through the evening.

The main threats will be damaging wind gusts to 60 mph. Large hail or an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The storms are expected to move through around 30 mph. Temperatures will gradually cool through the holiday weekend with highs on Labor Day in the low 70s.

Outside of a low chance for a shower on Sunday with a secondary cold front, we are looking at a mainly dry holiday weekend into early next week.
