Drier weather with sunshine moves into Metro Detroit for Labor Day weekend

Clouds will break for sunshine looking ahead into the start of the weekend (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – Some of us are waking up early Saturday morning to a few thunderstorms as our cold front is pulling through the region.

We are expecting these thunderstorms to wind down before sunrise, and dry weather will stick around looking ahead into the day on Saturday. We will start the day with a little more cloud cover, before breaking into some sunshine by late morning into the afternoon. High temperature is heading for the lower 80s by Saturday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies can be expected Saturday night, it will be cooler and less humid overnight as well. Overnight low dropping into the low to mid 60s.

We will keep the dry weather around, looking ahead into the end of the weekend on Sunday, but we are expecting another cold front to drop through the region working throughout the day on Sunday.

This will bring the isolated chance of a shower, but most places will stay dry. High temperatures heading for right around 80° by Sunday afternoon.

Next week

Looking ahead to Labor Day on Monday, we will see high pressure build into the region, so expect plenty of sunshine for the holiday. Cooler temperatures will be the headline on Monday as we will only see the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.

High pressure is going to stick around for the majority of next week, keeping the dry weather into the forecast. We will cool things down below average end of the 70s looking ahead into the start of next week, but then we will keep a little cloud cover in towards the middle of the week.

As that high pressure center moves off to the East, we will warm things up again. Expect temperature to start to warm back into the 80s by the end of next week. Our next chance of rain doesn’t look to move into the region with another cold front until the end of next week on Friday.
