After recent wild weather, Metro Detroit deserves this calm start to September and meteorological fall. Plus, we will have great weather for Labor Day.
September 1 is the first day of meteorological fall, while astronomical fall starts on Sept. 22 in the Northern Hemisphere. Meteorological seasons always begin and end on the same dates, which benefits recordkeeping.
As the calendar straddles the seasons, we will appropriately have cool and warm weather this week.
Unfortunately, weather-related concerns do exist.
