It has been a very pleasant weekend across the region with plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures, and we will continue the trend of dry weather into Labor Day on Monday.

High pressure will continue to build into the region, so expect plenty of sunshine for the holiday. Mostly sunny skies can be expected, cooler temperatures will be the headline as we will only see the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.

At the bus stop on Tuesday morning with most kids going back to school, you might need the jacket as we will have mainly clear skies giving way to plenty of sunshine. Overnight lows dropping into the lower 50s, and we could see some upper 40s in areas that normally are cooler outside the metro, especially over towards Ann Arbor.

High pressure is going to stick around for the majority of next week, keeping the dry weather into the forecast. We will cool things down below average end of the 70s looking ahead into the start of next week, but then we will keep a little cloud cover in towards the middle of the week. As that high pressure center moves off to the East, we will warm things up again. Expect temperature to start to warm back into the 80s by the middle of the week.

Our next chance of rain doesn’t look to move into the region with another cold front until the end of next week on Friday. Rain showers will develop after sunset on Thursday as that front moves into the area, and the end of the week will be soggy with rain showers continuing through the day on Friday. A few thunderstorms are also possible on Friday as the cold front moves through. High temperatures dropping into the 70s for Friday.

With that cold front moving through the area, we will bring another blast of fall-like air looking ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. We will also keep the chance of rain showers into the forecast as well. High temperatures heading for the upper 60s by the first part of next weekend. Sunshine moves back into the region for the end of the weekend on Sunday with some cloud cover sticking around, high temperatures right around 70 degrees.
