Metro Detroit enjoys calm, quiet stretch with gradual warm-up

Rain chances stay away until Friday with a chill weekend ahead.

4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit is enjoying a calm, quiet stretch of weather on Tuesday, along with a gradual warm-up.

The kids will need a light jacket or zip-up sweatshirt at the bus stop Tuesday morning. However, don’t let them leave without applying sunscreen.

High pressure will offer up a stretch of sunshine the next few days. Sunny and slightly warmer Tuesday, with highs in the seventies.

Sunset is at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday.

The rest of this week

Dry weather continues through Thursday, as temperatures gradually warm each day.

Conditions will be seasonal Wednesday, with highs close to 80 and warming up into the low to mid-80s on Thursday.

A cold front will usher in our next chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday. This could impact high school football games.

In the wake of that front, we turn cooler this weekend with lingering rain showers early Saturday. Hopefully, we dry out in time for college football on Saturday, but it will likley be breezy.

As for Sunday Night Football in Detroit, tailgating will be cool, but we should be dry!
