Sunshine, warmer and breezy for the end of the weekend in Metro Detroit

Temperatures running at least 10 degrees warmer by the end of the weekend with plenty of sunshine

Sunshine and a little cloud cover with breezy winds will stick around for the end of the weekend in Metro Detroit (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After a very fall-like start to the weekend and a cold start this morning with most of the region into the 40s and even some 30s as well, we will warm things up a bit as we work through the end of the weekend on Sunday.

We will keep Sunshine into the forecast through the end of the weekend on Sunday, with a little cloud cover as well. Temperatures about 10° warmer by the time we get to Sunday, high temperatures heading into the lower 70s by Sunday afternoon.

We keep the dry weather into the forecast looking ahead into the majority of next week. Expect a little more cloud cover by the time we get to Monday, but some sunshine will be sticking around as well. With a weak disturbance moving through during the morning hours, we will hold onto the chance of a few rain showers for some, but some will remain dry. High temperatures heading for right around the 80° mark by Monday afternoon.

Plenty of sunshine can be expected Tuesday all the way through the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures warming back into the low 80s on Tuesday, then heading for the mid to upper 80s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday thanks to a strong southerly flow. High-pressure will firmly control the forecast, keeping the dry weather around all the way through the end of the week.

We are keeping our eyes on the tropics right now as well. The National Hurricane Center is expecting an area of disturbed weather to become a tropical system in the next day or so over the Gulf of Mexico. We will need to watch where this goes, and some of the data is now showing this would be our next chance of any kind of rainfall outside of the few showers on Monday morning. The data is indicating that this system would make landfall somewhere on the Gulf of Mexico by the end of next week, then move into our region as a remnant low, bringing us a chance of rainfall, but this is over a week away, so we’ll continue to fine tune this forecast.
