Dry weather with summer-like temperatures continues Saturday for Metro Detroit

Plenty of sunshine once again continues into the weekend

Sunshine continues with warm temperatures to start the weekend in Metro Detroit

4Warn Weather – The stretch of dry weather continues through the end of the week with lots of sunshine and summer like temperatures, and there’s no sign that this type of of weather is going to continue looking ahead into the upcoming weekend.

We could really use some rainfall across the region with this dry stretch continuing. We’ve only see 0.06″ of rain so far in September at Detroit Metro Airport. We should be close to 1.5″ of rain for the month, so we are well below average for precipitation, and as of right now, they dry stretch doesn’t look to end anytime soon.

Dense fog burns off this morning with sunshine continuing, high pressure will remain firmly in control of the forecast which means we will keep sunshine into the forecast with yet another day of warm temperatures for the start of the weekend. High temperature is heading back into the 80s by Saturday afternoon.

The summer-like forecast continues into the end of the weekend on Sunday, Sunshine expected for the lions game working into Sunday as well. High temperatures heading back into the 80s again with a nice breeze to make it feel a tad bit cooler. Great weather for tailgating with temperatures in the 60s in the morning.

Looking ahead to the majority of next week, there is no sign at this dry stretch of weather is going to break. An upper level ridge of high-pressure is controlling the forecast, and there’s no sign that there’s going to be any kind of forcing mechanism in the atmosphere to change this pattern. Will keep a mixture of sunshine and clouds into the forecast most days next week, with a little more cloud cover working in by the end of the week on Friday. Expect high temperatures to go back into the low to mid 80s And every day through the end of next week.

The 6-10 Day Temperature and Precipitation Outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center places Southeastern Michigan in an above average trend for temperatures and a below average trend for precipitation. This means, that the streak of warmer and drier weather which we have had last week and we are looking to continue into next week should continue into the end of the month of September.
