Sunshine gives way to much needed rainfall for Metro Detroit by the end of the weekend

The streak of dry days across the region will give way to rain showers for the region by the end of the weekend

SUNDAY: Morning sunshine, increasing clouds into the afternoon. Rain showers develop by late afternoon. High: 83. Winds: South 5-10 MPH.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies, scattered rain showers. Low: 63. Winds: South 5-10 MPHl.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of rain showers. High: 73.

After a dry start to the weekend with plenty of sunshine, we will keep the dry weather into the forecast into the overnight hours, before wet weather moves back into the region with some much-needed rainfall by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

Mainly clear skies can be expected into the overnight, comfortable temperatures are expected as well, overnight lows dropping into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

We will start the day on Sunday with some sunshine before the clouds increased by lunchtime, and our next weather disturbance moves into the region by the time we get to the end of the weekend. Expect rain showers to overspread the region late Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening and stick around into the overnight hours. High temperatures heading for the lower 80s by Sunday afternoon.

With this disturbance, pulling off to the east, we will keep the chance of rain showers and cloud cover into the forecast to start the week on Monday. High temperatures running about 10° cooler than the end of the weekend, only heading for the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.

Our next frontal boundary rules into the region from Tuesday and into the middle of the week on Wednesday. We will keep the rain showers and a chance for a few thunderstorms into the forecast on Tuesday, and holding onto a chance of rain showers winding down on Wednesday. High temperatures remaining into the 70s both Tuesday and Wednesday.

High-pressure looks to build back into the region for the end of next week. Will keep a filtered Sunshine into the forecast on Thursday, giving way to plenty of sunshine by the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures remaining reasonable into the lower 70s.

Looking ahead into the start of next weekend, we will keep the dry weather into the forecast, but it looks like we’ve got a brief cooldown on the way. High temperatures only making it into the 60s for the start of next weekend.
