4Warn Weather – We’re tracking a few storms just south of the Michigan/Ohio border. One cell west of Sandusky generated a Tornado Warning around 4 p.m., although this was radar-indicated and not confirmed.
This tells us that the atmosphere has enough instability and other ingredients to generate mini supercells capable of rotation.
Most, if not all, of this energy will remain south of Metro Detroit. However, there is a marginal level one risk of severe weather from Ann Arbor to Detroit and points south.
Wednesday
Any storms that do develop will be gone by 11 p.m. A stray shower is possible on Wednesday, but most of the day will be dry.
Thursday-Friday
Thursday and Friday are looking good. High pressure is in control, bringing us a mix of clouds and sun and temperatures in the mid-70s.
We are also tracking Tropical Storm Helene, which is expected to develop into a major hurricane and make landfall in Florida sometime Thursday or Friday.
The remnants could bring us a stray shower for the weekend—lots to talk about tonight at 11 p.m.
