The remnants of Helene are bringing soggy weather to Metro Detroit this weekend.
While some parts of Southeast Michigan stayed dry on Saturday, other areas had off and on showers for much of the day.
Saturday night will be cloudy with a few showers in the region. There will be areas of patchy fog and mist through the night. Lows will be 60 to 65 degrees with the cooler temperatures in the Thumb and the higher temperatures around Detroit. Winds will be out of the northeast at 5 to 10 mph. Gusts will be up to 20 mph.
Sunday
Expect areas of patchy fog and mist early Sunday morning. The better chance of showers will also be during the morning, but spotty showers will linger through the day. The chance of encountering showers will be higher south of I-96. Breezy conditions will continue with northeasterly winds at 8 to 16 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.
Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 60s.
Monday
Monday will be mostly cloudy with a couple of isolated or spotty showers. Most people will not get rain. Temperatures will reach the lower to mid 70s in the afternoon. Nighttime skies will be partly cloudy as temperatures fall to the lower 60s. Patchy fog will be possible late.
Tuesday
Tuesday, the first day of October, will be warm and mostly cloudy with the chance of rain showers and a thunderstorm or two. The showers will develop along and ahead of a cold front, which will approach from the west. The chance of rain will increase during the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s.
Showers will end Tuesday evening. Cool air will flow into Southeast Michigan with lows in the mid 40s to near 50 degrees.
Wednesday
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, but noticeably cooler. Highs will be in the lower to mid 60s. Lows will be in the mid 40s to near 50 degrees.
Thursday and Friday
Thursday will bring more sunshine and the return of temperatures in the lower 70s. On Friday, it will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with the chance of a stray shower.
Next Weekend
Normal highs for the start of October are in the upper 60s. Next weekend looks to stay above normal.
