Got sunglasses? Brief cooldown, stretch of sunshine for Metro Detroit

Above-normal temperatures for most of week in Southeast Michigan

Metro Detroit, get ready to witness a bright ball of plasma in the sky: the sun.

While Wednesday will be several degrees cooler than Tuesday in Metro Detroit, temperatures will be normal. The sunshine will also make it feel wonderful outdoors.

Following a start to the day with temperatures in the 40s in much of Southeast Michigan, highs will be in the mid to upper 60s. The average high for this date is 68 degrees at Detroit Metro Airport. Under mostly sunny skies, light winds will be out of the north-northwest at 4 to 8 mph.

Wednesday night, it will be mostly clear and calm. Southerly winds will be around 5 mph.

Thursday

Thursday will see temperatures jumping back into the mid 70s, and the abundant sunshine will also return. Under mostly clear skies, nighttime temperatures will fall to the upper 40s to 50 degrees.

Friday

A weak cold front will sweep across the area on Friday morning, which will knock down temperatures slightly. Highs will be in the lower 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Lows will be around 50 degrees.

Saturday

The first half of the weekend will be great to go to a pumpkin patchy or apple orchard. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to 70 degrees.

Sunday

Sunday will be partly cloudy with the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

A cold front will bring cooler air for Monday with highs in the mid 60s.
