More sunshine and above average temperatures for Metro Detroit into the end of the week

Chances for showers and a few thunderstorms return to the forecast by the time we get to the weekend

4Warn Weather – After lots of sunshine throughout the middle of the week and pleasant temperatures, we’re going to keep the trend of dry weather and above average temperatures around looking ahead throughout the end of the week.

Mostly sunny skies can be expected as we work throughout our Thursday, after a chilly start with most everybody into the 40s and lower 50s, we will warm up into the middle 70s by Thursday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies can be expected overnight tonight, and it will be another chilly night. Expect overnight temperatures to drop into the upper 40s and lower 50s once again.

The dry weather will stick around through the end of the week and start of the weekend, but we are going to watch a dry cold front move through by the end of the week and start of the weekend as well. That front will drop temperatures into the lower 70s for the end of the week on Friday and start of the weekend on Saturday.

Another cold front rolls through by the end of the weekend on Sunday, increasing our clouds with a chance of showers and a few thunderstorms. Temperatures warming back into the upper 70s by the time we get to Sunday afternoon.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 76. Winds: Southwest 5-10 MPH

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies, another cool night. Low: 50. Winds: Calm winds

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny skies, continued pleasant. High: 72. Winds: North 5-10 MPH

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies, continued cool. Low: 50. Winds: North 3-6 MPH.

Looking ahead into the first half of next week, once that cold front moves through by the end of the weekend, we are going to get some fall like temperatures heading our way into early next week. Will keep a little bit of cloud cover in with some sunshine to start the week on Monday, before high-pressure builds in bringing more sunshine than anything. High temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 60s for the first half of next week, with overnight lows into the 40s Monday through Wednesday.
