Summer sampler in Metro Detroit before temperatures tumble

Warm and windy end to the workweek

4Warn Weather – It’s a cool start with morning lows ranging from the 30s to low 50s. You’ll need an extra layer this morning, but t-shirt and shorts weather is on tap this afternoon,

Temperatures soar into the upper 70s today. Gusty winds, especially over the Thumb, can be expected. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower north along a cold front this evening. Metro Detroit should just see increased cloud cover from this front and stay dry for high school football.

Sunset is at 6:57 p.m.

We gradually slide through the 60s this weekend. Rounds of rain are expected late Saturday night into Sunday. An isolated thunderstorm possible along or south of I-94. Rain chances continue through Sunday into Monday. Temperatures tumble to start the new work week with below average with highs in the 50s. As widespread overnight lows will be in the 30s early next week, this weekend might be a good time to pull out the summer annuals.
