Rain showers & cooler temperatures to end the weekend in Metro Detroit

Rain showers stick around for the end of the weekend and into early next week for Metro Detroit (WDIV)

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of rain showers. Low: 43. Winds: Northwest 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain showers in the morning, skies becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. High: 54. Winds: North 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.

MONDAY NIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy. Much colder overnight. Low: 38. Winds: North 3-6 MPH.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy skies. An isolated rain shower is possible in the thumb, but most everyone remains dry. High: 52.

We’re going to watch another frontal boundary move in for the end of the weekend on Sunday and to start next week on Monday. Rain showers will be a safe bet on and off throughout the day on Sunday, and even chilly your temperature is moving into the region as well. High temperatures heading for the upper 50s by Sunday afternoon.

We will keep a chance of some rain showers in the forecast to start next week on Monday, but we will also bring some sunshine into the forecast as well. Temperature is getting even cooler yet again, high temperatures heading for the middle 50s by Monday afternoon, which will run about 10° below average to start next week.

High pressure will build into the region looking ahead into the middle of next week, we will keep a filtered Sunshine into the forecast for Tuesday before plenty of sunshine moves in Wednesday through the end of next week on Friday. High temperatures remaining into the 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday will warm into the 60s by Thursday and into the end of next week on Friday.

Colder air will be moving in as work into the start of next week, and while most places remain dry as we look ahead into Tuesday, with some lake enhancement, we will keep the chance of an isolated rain shower into the thumb for most of the day.

With the cooler changes moving into the region, we could see our first frost and or freeze moving into the region by the middle portion of next week. Overnight lows will drop into the mid 30s in Metro Detroit, Monday night and Tuesday night, outside of the metro could see some low 30s, so keep an eye on the forecast for the possibility of frost and or freeze headlines heading into the middle of next week.

Sunshine sticks around by the start of next weekend on Saturday, mostly sunny skies can be expected. The warming trend continues with high temperatures taking a run into the upper 60s to right around 70 degrees.
