Teeth-chattering temperatures through midweek in Metro Detroit

Patchy frost possible tonight

4Warn Weather – Waking up to either side of 40 this morning and feeling a little cooler with the wind chill. Don’t leave the house without a thicker coat. If you will be in the Thumb region today, you will also need to grab an umbrella.

Noticeably cooler this morning compared to yesterday. Our highs this afternoon will be struggling to reach 50. In fact, as winds gust around 20 mph out of the north this afternoon, the feels like temperatures will likely not get out of the 40s. Most areas remain dry across the Metro. However, the eastern portion of the Thumb will continue to have off and on lake effect rain showers throughout the day.

Sunset is at 6:51 p.m.

Meanwhile, frost development remains likely for portions of Southeast Michigan both tomorrow morning and Thursday morning with forecasted lows in the low to mid-30s. Seasonal sixties will likely not return until Friday. Temperatures warm to either side of 70 this weekend as high pressure brings dry conditions. This will be a great weekend to take in outdoor fall activities like the apple orchard or corn maze with comfortable conditions and sunshine on tap. Temperatures will stay in the 70s into early next week. Long-range outlooks have temperatures trending above average to round out the month of October.
