Metro Detroit gets warm, sunny weather with chances to see comet

Saturday highs in upper 60s; Sunday highs in lower 70s

4Warn Weather – Southeast Michigan’s calm weather will continue through the weekend and beyond.

Friday evening will be comfortable and cool with mostly clear skies. Temperatures will gradually fall into the 50s. Expect pleasant conditions for sports or simply relaxing in the yard.

The Local 4 Game of the Week features Walled Lake Western vs. Mason. The Capital Region will have clear skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s during the game.

Sunset will be around 6:45 p.m. in Southeast Michigan. It will occur at 6:41 p.m. in Port Huron, 6:45 p.m. in Detroit, 6:46 p.m. in Romulus, and 6:48 p.m. in Howell.

Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS will be visible in the western sky during the evening now through Saturday, Oct. 26. The best time to view the comet will be from about 15 minutes after sunset to 45 minutes after sunset. Visibility will be dependent on cloud coverage. In Metro Detroit, expect mostly clear skies for the next few nights.

Under mostly clear skies, temperatures will fall to around 40 degrees in Wyandotte, Dearborn, Detroit, Madison Heights, and Warren on Friday night. It will be in the mid-30s in Maybee, Brighton, Grand Blanc, Lapeer, Sandusky, and Port Huron. It will be as cool as the lower 30s in Ann Arbor.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, and temperatures will reach the upper 60s in most of Southeast Michigan. A couple of locations may even reach 70 degrees.

The Central vs. Eastern game will kick off at 2 p.m. in Ypsilanti in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s around the start of the game.

In the evening, it will be slightly cooler for the 7 p.m. kickoff at the Iowa vs. Michigan State game in East Lansing. Temperatures will be in the lower 60s.

In Metro Detroit, Saturday night will be mostly clear and comfortable. Expect overnight lows in the lower 40s.

Sunday

Sunday will live up to its name. It will be sunny and warm. Temperatures will be around 70 degrees, about 10 degrees above average. Lows will be in the mid to upper 40s.

Monday

Monday will be sunny and even warmer. Afternoon highs will be in the lower to mid-70s. Nighttime and early Tuesday morning temperatures will fall to the mid-40s.

Tuesday

Tuesday’s weather will be nearly identical. Highs will be in the lower 70s to mid-70s, with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Wednesday

Wednesday will bring the next chance of showers. Highs will be in the mid-60s to near 70 degrees. A few showers will be possible in the morning, but the chance will increase in the afternoon. Lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Thursday

By Thursday, as cooler and drier air flows into Metro Detroit, temperatures will only peak in the mid-50s and mid-60s.
