Time to bring out t-shirts again in Metro Detroit

Highs to reach 70s for next few days in Southeast Michigan

Have you put away the t-shirts? If you’re daring, you might want to wear shorts over the next couple of days, too. Don’t forget the sunglasses while you’re accessorizing.

Following Saturday afternoon’s highs in the upper 60s to lower 70 degrees, under mostly sunny skies, the evening will be pleasant in Metro Detroit.

It will start cooling off for the 7:30 p.m. kickoff at the Iowa vs. Michigan State game in East Lansing. Temperatures will be in the lower 60s.

In Metro Detroit, Saturday night will be mostly clear and comfortable. Expect overnight lows in the lower 40s with areas of patchy fog.

Internationally, Tropical Storm Nadine slammed Belize as Hurricane Oscar formed east of the Bahamas on Saturday. The Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas, and Cuba were bracing for impacts from the small hurricane this weekend. On Saturday evening, it was a Category One.

Sunday

Early Sunday temperatures will be in the lower 40s, which is comfortable for the start of the Detroit Free Marathon in Detroit and Windsor. (WDIV)

Monday

Monday will be sunny and even warmer. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 70s. Nighttime and early Tuesday morning temperatures will fall to the mid 40s to 50 degrees.

Tuesday

Tuesday will still be warm with highs will be in the lower to mid 70s, but there will be a mix of sunshine and clouds. Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Wednesday

Wednesday will bring the next chance of showers with a cold front. Highs will be in the mid 60s to 70 degrees. A few showers will be possible in the morning, but the chance will increase in the afternoon. Lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Thursday

By Thursday, as cooler and drier air flows into Metro Detroit behind the cold front, temperatures will only peak in the mid 50s.

Friday

Friday will be drier and sunnier. Highs will be in the upper 50s to 60 degrees.
