Highs in mid 50s this weekend in Southeast Michigan

4Warm Weather – It is seasonably cool in Metro Detroit.

The workweek has ended starkly cooler than it began. Monday’s high was 80 degrees at Metro Airport, which was just one degree shy of the record. Highs had fallen to around 60 degrees on Thursday and Friday. The cool air will be reinforced across Southeast Michigan this weekend.

Friday evening will be mostly cloudy and cool. Temperatures will be in the 50s for the Local 4 Game of the Week, which features Belleville vs. Howell. Winds will be out of the west and west-northwest at 6 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Friday night, clouds will decrease and temperatures will fall to around 40 degrees in Detroit, Taylor, Monroe, Warren, and Port Huron. It will be slightly cooler away from Detroit and farther inland. Expect lows in the mid to upper 30s in Ann Arbor, Howell, Milford, and Lapeer.

You may want to take a hat and jacket for tailgating or attending the Michigan State vs. Michigan game at the Big House in Ann Arbor. The temperature will be around 50 degrees for the 7:30 p.m. kickoff, but temperatures will be in the 40s for the rest of the evening.

Saturday night will be mostly clear with lows near freezing in the lower 30s.

Sunday

Sunday will be mostly sunny and cool. The Lions will host the Tennessee Titans at Ford Field with a 1 p.m. kickoff. Tailgaters can expect late morning temperatures in the 40s and early afternoon temperatures in the lower 50s. Midafternoon highs will be in the mid 50s. Nighttime temperatures will fall to the mid to upper 30s.

Monday

Monday will not be as cool. Highs will be around 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the upper 40s to 50 degrees.

Tuesday

Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, but an isolated shower is possible in the Thumb and near Flint and northward. Highs will be in the lower to mid 70s. Lows will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Wednesday

Wednesday will likely be the warmest day of the week with highs in the mid 70s. While it will be warm, sky conditions will be mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 50s to 60 degrees.

Halloween

Thursday, or Halloween, will be warm and rainy. Highs will be around 70 degrees, with evening temperatures in the 60s. The average high for Halloween is 56 degrees, and the average low is 39 degrees. Last Halloween (2023), Metro Detroit had measurable snow with 0.2 inches at Metro Airport.
