Sunshine for Sunday to near record temperatures & breezy winds next week for Metro Detroit

Rain chances will also increase looking ahead into the middle of next week

A few rain showers are possible Tuesday, better chances for rain move in for Halloween (WDIV)

4Warn WeatherSUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 58. Winds: Southwest 3-6 MPH.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 38. Winds: Calm winds.

MONDAY: Partly cloudy skies. High: 61. Winds: Southeast 5-10 MPH.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 49. Winds: South 5-10 MPH.

After a nice start to the weekend, we will keep the sunshine and fall-like temperatures into the forecast looking ahead into the end of the weekend.

High pressure will continue to control the forecast through the weekend and into early next week, that means we will see more sunshine Sunday and early next week on Monday.

High temperatures remaining into the upper 50s on Sunday afternoon, will give way to the low 60s looking ahead into early next week on Monday.

A chance of showers as possible on Tuesday, with a disturbance moving through the region. The data differs on the placement of the rain showers, some of us may not see them, but until the data comes into better agreement, I am going to keep a chance of rain showers into the forecast on Tuesday.

A stronger system moves into the region by the time we look ahead into Halloween on Thursday, and with the strong pressure gradient between that system and high pressure, we will see windy conditions move in for Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds could be gusting as high as 30 to 35 miles an hour Tuesday and Wednesday.

With the warm-up on the way, we are looking at another round of near record to record high temperatures once again this week. Tuesday, I’m forecasting 76 degrees for a high temperature, and the record is 77 degrees set back in 1999, so we will come close. Wednesday, I am forecasting a record high temperature for Detroit. My forecast is 78 degrees, and the record is 76 degrees set back in 1999.

Once the cold front moves through the region on Thursday, we will cool things down into the 50s looking head into Thursday night, with those 50s on the way by the end of next week on Friday. We will keep some sunshine into the forecast looking ahead into the start of next weekend as well as we start November, high temperatures remaining in the 50s.
