Thursday will be a few degrees cooler with afternoon highs in the lower 70s, but rain and wind could be an inconvenience.
The showers, including an isolated thunderstorm, will arrive from the west. The best window for showers will be from noon until 5 p.m., but a couple of showers could pop up as early as 11 a.m. and last as late as 6 p.m. That means that children and families could encounter a few raindrops at the start of trick or treating, but showers will diminish.
Winds out of the south and southwest will be 15 to 20 mph with gusts as high 40 mph in Metro Detroit. Gusts could reach as high as 45 mph in the Thumb.
A wind advisory will be in effect for the Thumb, including Sanilac County, from 2 p.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday.
Thursday night will be breezy. Clouds will gradually decrease. Lows will be 40 to 45 degrees.
While Thursday’s wet, windy weather might inconvenience some people. Conditions will be vastly different than last year on Oct. 31. Last Halloween (2023), Metro Detroit had measurable snow with 0.2 inches at Metro Airport. The average high for Halloween is 56 degrees, and the average low is 39 degrees.
