Welcome to November! We are starting off with typical fall weather in Metro Detroit.
With temperatures that peaked in the lower to mid-50s on Friday afternoon.
It was 20 to 25 degrees cooler than Halloween, but highs were back to normal. It is also less windy, but there is still a light breeze.
We will have clearing skies on Friday evening as Dia de los Muertos observations get underway. Temperatures will be in the 40s, and winds will be 5 to 10 mph out of the west-northwest.
Skies will become mostly clear on Friday night over most of southeast Michigan. Clouds will be more persistent over the Thumb, where it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy.
Friday night’s lows will be around freezing in many locations. It will be around 30 degrees in the Thumb and Ann Arbor area.
Expect lows in the lower 30s in Brighton, Grand Blanc, Commerce Township, and Romeo. Lows will be in the mid-30s in Detroit, Dearborn, Downriver, and Warren.
This weekend, temperatures will slowly rise.
Saturday
Saturday will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-50s.
Afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 50s at the Big House and Spartan Stadium as both Michigan and Michigan State play home games. Lows will be in the upper 30s to 40 degrees.
Before going to bed Saturday night, remember to adjust the time of any clocks that require manual resetting.
Sunday
Daylight Saving Time will end early Sunday. At 2 a.m., we will fall back to 1 a.m. and gain one hour of sleep.
That time change will result in a 7:10 a.m. sunrise in Metro Detroit and a 5:24 p.m. sunset on Sunday.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy, but the evening will bring chances for rain. Expect highs in the mid-to-upper 50s and lows around 50 degrees.
Monday
Plan for rain showers on Monday. Highs will range from the mid-60s to 70 degrees, and lows will be in the mid-50s to 60 degrees.
Tuesday
Tuesday, Election Day, will be warm, breezy, and showery. Afternoon temperatures will reach the lower 70s, and lows will be in the upper 40s to 50 degrees.
Wednesday
A few showers will still be possible Wednesday morning, but the chance of showers will end as drier and cooler air moves into Southeast Michigan. Wednesday, we will see highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
