When to expect rain in Metro Detroit

Rain showers stick around into early next week

Rain showers move into the region by the end of the weekend on Sunday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After we cleared out the clouds late Friday night and into the overnight, we will see some sunshine to start the weekend before wet weather returns to the forecast by the end of the weekend.

Looking ahead into the start of the weekend on Saturday, high-pressure will still control the forecast, so expect plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will remain reasonable throughout the day, back into the 50s by Saturday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies can be expected once again overnight Saturday night and into Sunday Morning, and it will be another cold night. Overnight lows dropping back into the 30s & lower 40s once again by early Sunday Morning.

Also, Sunday is the end of Daylight Saving Time. We “Fall Back” one hour at 2:00 AM Sunday Morning, be sure to set your clocks back one hour before you go to sleep Saturday night.

Expect the clouds to increase throughout the day on Sunday with rain showers developing as we had throughout the second half of our Sunday. High temperature is remaining seasonable into the 50s by Sunday afternoon.

We keep the rain showers into the forecast, looking ahead into the start of next week, but temperatures will be getting warmer looking ahead into the start of next week as well. High temperatures heading into the 60s on Monday, will warm into the 70s for election day on Tuesday before another cold front swing through the region.

Right now, we are forecasting 72 degrees for Election Day on Tuesday for a daytime high, this would be near-record warmth once again for Detroit. The record high for Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 is 74 degrees set back in 2015, so we will come close before this cold front moves through the weekend.

That cold front will drop temperatures back into the 50s and 60s looking heading into the middle of next week, and we bring an extra sunshine and clouds into the forecast looking ahead into the middle of next week as well. Drier weather will move back into the region by the end of the day on Wednesday after a chance of a few rain showers on Wednesday Morning.
