While Metro Detroit started November with typical fall weather, record warmth is returning.
Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with rain showers. Following overnight lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s, predawn temperatures will start to rise behind a warm front. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Monday
It will be mostly cloudy and breezy with a slight chance of showers on Monday. Highs will range from the mid 60s to 70 degrees. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Due to the gusty winds, a small craft advisory will be in effect through 10 p.m. Tuesday for the Southeast Michigan waters of Lake Huron. A small craft advisory will be in effect for the Michigan waters of Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair from 7 a.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Monday night, it will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers. Southerly winds will be 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
Tuesday
Election Day will be warm and breezy with a chance of late-day showers. A shower or two may pop up on Tuesday afternoon, but the better chance of showers will be in the evening. Afternoon temperatures will reach the lower to mid 70s. Metro Airport has a good chance of exceeding the existing record high of 74 degrees. The average high for Nov. 5 is 53 degrees.
Plan for showers on Tuesday night as a cold front approaches and sweeps across Southeast Michigan. Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50 degrees.
Wednesday through Friday
Behind the cold front, expect dry conditions, lots of sunshine, and cooler air through the remainder of the workweek. Highs will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Next Weekend
Next weekend will bring another chance of showers.
Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs around 60 degrees. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with the chance of showers. Sunday’s temperatures will rise to the lower to mid 60s.
