Record warmth for Election Day; rain showers returning to Metro Detroit during the evening

Cooler temperatures and drier weather move into the region for the end of the week

4Warn Weather – After clouds and some rain showers to start the week on Monday, we will keep the wet weather in the forecast looking ahead into our Election Day on Tuesday

We will get a break from the rain for the majority of the day on election day, but the clouds will be sticking around the entire day. Rain showers will move back into the region by the time we get to the evening hours on Tuesday, as the polls are closing, and with a strong southerly flow, we are looking at record temperature as possible by the time we get to Tuesday afternoon.

We’re forecasting a high of 76° on Tuesday afternoon, that would break the record of 74° set back in 2022. With the unseasonably warm conditions, the wind will be gusty the next few days as well. Expect wind gusts upwards of 30 miles an hour possible on Monday, and going as high as 35 miles an hour on Tuesday.

TUESDAY (ELECTION DAY): Mostly cloudy skies. Windy conditions expected. Record warmth possible. High: 76. Winds: Southwest 15-25 MPH with gusts as high as 35 MPH.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of rain showers. Continued windy. Low: 53. Winds: Southwest 10-20 MPH with gusts as high as 30 MPH.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy in the morning, decreasing clouds throughout the day, skies becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Cooler temperatures. High: 64. Winds: West 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mainly clear skies. Low: 43.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny skies. High: 59.

Once this frontal boundary moves through the region, we will dry things up, looking ahead into the second half of the week. Cooler temperatures will move in as well through the end of the week with highs dropping into the 50s by the time we get to Thursday.

We keep some sunshine into the forecast, looking ahead into the end of the week and start of next weekend, before another chance of rain showers moves into the region looking ahead into the end of next weekend on Sunday. Mild temperature sticking around into the upcoming weekend as well with high temperatures in the low 60s on Saturday, warming into the mid 60s by Sunday.

The drier weather will continue looking ahead into the start of next week on Monday for Veterans Day. Expect partly cloudy skies, temperatures still remaining above average. High temperatures heading into the lower 60s by Monday afternoon.
