4Warn Weather – While we had some cooler temperatures move into the region over the last few days, we’re looking ahead into the middle and end of November, just before the Thanksgiving holiday.
It looks like the trend of warmer-than-average temperatures and wetter-than-average conditions is going to persist in portions of the Great Lakes, including Michigan.
The Climate Prediction Center’s eight to 14-day temperature outlook keeps portions of the Great Lakes, including Michigan, and a trend for above-average temperatures.
Over the next five to seven days, we have temperatures into the 50s from the majority of the forecast, and we will stay about five to seven degrees above average, even though it will feel cooler.
Turning our attention to the probability of precipitation, The Climate Prediction Center has placed portions of the Midwest, the Ohio Valley, the Great Lakes, and the northwestern United States on a trend for above-average precipitation.
There are some signals that we could be seeing a shift in the weather pattern as we head toward the end of the month.
This would place portions of the Midwest, through the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes, and into the Northeast in a favorable zone for a more active storm track than we have seen.
Now, it’s too early to tell what type of precipitation we would see, but with the trend of above-average temperatures during this period, it is more than likely we would not see any significant winter weather heading toward the end of the month, rather just periods of wet weather.
We will continue to track the forecast as we had through the middle portions of the month and into the Thanksgiving holiday; stay with the 4Warn Weather Team for the latest details.
