Snowy start in Metro Detroit -- How this can affect morning commute

Season’s first snowfall is here

DETROIT – Waking up to the first flakes of the season! Light, scattered snow showers will continue to push through Southeast Michigan early today which could slow down the morning commute.

Some road temperatures have dipped below freezing, so elevated surfaces may get a little slick even if we don’t have much accumulation.

Scattered to numerous snow showers will impact Southeast Michigan today leading to a dusting is spots. Highs will be around 40, but wind chills today will be in the 20s and 30s. Snowflakes could mix with rain in pockets later today.

Scattered to numerous rain showers are expected Friday, mainly east of U.S. 23 with highs in the upper 40s. Dry weather expected for most of the weekend. Rising around 50 early next week before falling back into the low 40s heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.
