Brief break from rain, snow in Metro Detroit

Flurries or sprinkles possible on Thanksgiving in Southeast Michigan

Metro Detroit’s break from precipitation will come to an end as rain and snow showers return for the workweek.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 30s for most of Southeast Michigan. Temperatures will fall to the lower 30s in the Thumb and settle in the upper 30s in Detroit and Downriver. Winds will be light out of the west at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday

Sunday’s skies will range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in Southeast Michigan. The weather will again be seasonably cool with highs in the mid to upper 40s. The cooler temperatures will be found along and north of the I-69 corridor. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 40s. A few showers will develop close to midnight and after.

Lions game

Conditions will be similar in Indianapolis for the Lions vs. Colts game on Sunday afternoon. It will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be in the lower 50 at the 1 p.m. kickoff time with a high in the mid 50s.

Monday

Back in Southeast Michigan, a few rain showers will develop late Sunday night into Monday morning.

With cloudy skies, widely scattered rain showers will be possible through Monday night. Monday’s afternoon temperatures will rise to the lower 50s behind a warm front. Lows will be in the lower to mid 30s.

Tuesday and Wednesday

As travel revs up on Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will be in the lower 40s. Southeast Michigan will have a slight chance of isolated lake-effect rain showers on Tuesday, but some areas will remain dry.

Thanksgiving

Thursday, or Thanksgiving, will be mostly cloudy and cool. While most of Southeast Michigan will remain dry, a few rain and snow showers will pass over the region. Morning temperatures will be in the 30s with an afternoon high around 40 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will fall into the 20s.

Friday

Black Friday shoppers will have to brace for cold air and snow showers. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s. Lows will be in the lower 30s.

Saturday

As shopping continues, Small Business Saturday will be cloudy and cold. Bundle up and prepare for highs near freezing.
