4Warn Weather – As we approach the holiday weekend, more data is confirming what will happen over the coming days, but there remain some minor uncertainties.

For the rest of this Wednesday, we’ll hang on to the clouds with perhaps a drop or flake or two, but most, if not all, should be dry. That changes perhaps as early as tonight for some of us.

Later tonight a system passing mainly to our south gets very close to us, and could clip us with a light rain/snow mix.

Most of the action and the higher impacts stay to our south, but it will be close for us. We’re keeping the chance for a light rain/snow mix in mainly during Thursday’s overnight and early morning hours.

Thanksgiving

When we wake up on Thanksgiving Day, most of us should be dry, but there could still be a light rain/snow mix lingering.

However, this will exit the area, and we should dry out for the majority of Thursday. It’ll be cool on Thanksgiving, with highs struggling to get near 40 degrees.

For those going downtown for any festivities on Thursday, the earlier you go, the better your chance of encountering a couple of drops or flakes. However, the impacts should be fairly minimal.

Late Thursday night and Friday morning are when we have a better chance for more impactful weather as lake-effect snow showers look to set up shop.

We could even see some stronger bands, perhaps a few snow squalls, which could give way to a quick accumulation of snow and reduced visibilities.

Friday

This will continue through the day Friday, and by the time we get to sunset Friday, we could see around an inch of snow, mainly west of US 23.

Weekend

This weekend features more of the same as Friday, but snow chances get a little smaller each day. That being said, you should still plan on a few snow showers each day.

Even early next week, there could be a few more flakes flying, but with the flow of the Great Lakes not being nearly as strong, we’re not expecting nearly as many.

The other story over the next few days is the coldest air of the season arriving.

Next week

After topping out near 40 on Thursday, highs will hover around the freezing mark this weekend and early next week, which is around 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.
