Here’s when rain, snow returns to Metro Detroit

Snow chances return to the forecast by the middle of the week

Rain showers will move back into the region looking ahead into the start of next week (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After a dry end of the week, we will keep the dry weather into the majority of the weekend for some of us, with a little snow possible for some areas north of Metro Detroit to start the weekend.

We’re going to watch an area of low pressure move through part of the region, especially north of M-59 thanks to a clipper system to start the weekend on Saturday. A southwesterly flow will also start to warm us up as we had throughout the day, so temperatures will rise throughout the entire day and into the evening hours tonight. We are expecting a little bit of light snow through the afternoon of the early evening hours tonight up toward the thumb, everyone else wore me dry under mostly cloudy sky. High temperatures warming into the upper 30s through the afternoon and into the evening hours tonight.

Looking ahead into the end of the weekend on Sunday, we will start to break up the cloud cover a little bit, and see a little bit of sunshine. High temperature is continuing to warm into the 40s by the time we get to the end of the weekend on Sunday.

A strong low pressure system will move into the region to start next week, high temperatures will go above average for the first time in a while, and that means we will see rain showers moving in looking ahead into the start of next week. High temperature is heading for the upper 40s to near 50° by Monday afternoon.

We do cool things down, though looking ahead into the middle of next week, we’re going to have another strong low pressure system move through the region, and that will bring cooler air into the region for Wednesday and Thursday. This will also bring back our chances of snow showers into the forecast both Wednesday and Thursday. Too early to talk about if the snow will accumulate, but temperatures will be much colder Looking ahead into the second half of the week.

By the time we get to the end of the week on Friday, temperatures will start to moderate a little bit, and we will see some sunshine move in by the time we get to the end of the week on Friday.
