DETROIT – A winter storm watch has been issued for 27 counties in Michigan, with 3-12 inches of snow possible.
The counties involved in this watch are on the west side of the state and the northern parts of the Lower Peninsula.

West Michigan
There are two separate watches issued for counties in West Michigan.
The following counties are under a winter storm watch from 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday evening:
- Mason County
- Lake County
- Osceola County
- Oceana County
- Newaygo County
- Muskegon County
These six counties are expected to bet between 4 and 12 inches of snow.
The following counties are under a winter storm watch from Wednesday morning through Thursday evening:
- Ottawa County
- Kent County
- Allegan County
- Barry County
- Van Buren County
- Kalamazoo County
These counties are expected to get between 3 and 8 inches of snow.
Northern Lower Michigan
These counties are under a winter storm watch from 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday evening:
- Emmet County
- Cheboygan County
- Presque Isle County
- Leelanau County
- Antrim County
- Otsego County
- Montmorency County
- Benzie County
- Grand Traverse County
- Kalkaska County
- Crawford County
- Manistee County
- Wexford County
- Missaukee County
- Charlevoix County
These counties could get up to 8 inches of snow.
