4Warn Weather – Metro Detroit will trade Monday’s mild temperatures and rain for cold and snow later this week.
Following a Monday afternoon with rain, fog, and temperatures around 50 degrees, the evening will be cloudy and foggy with mist. A stray rain shower will also be possible during the evening.
Detroit Pistons fans will have mist and temperatures near 50 degrees in downtown Detroit as they walk to Little Caesars Arena for the 7 p.m. game against the Miami Heat. Streets and sidewalks will still be wet.
Monday night will be cloudy, with fog diminishing. Lows will be in the mid-30s. The daytime’s southerly winds will become westerly at 10 to 20 mph behind a cold front. Gusts will be as high as 30 mph.
Tuesday
Cooler air will start to push into Southeast Michigan on Tuesday, resulting in highs around 40 degrees. Under mostly cloudy skies, westerly winds will be five to 15 mph.
Wednesday
Snow showers will return on Wednesday. Rain could mix in at times. Seasonable highs will be in the mid to upper 30s.
Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a few flurries. Lows will be in the lower to mid-20s.
Thursday/Friday
Highs will be in the lower 30s on Thursday and Friday. Snow will develop Thursday night and continue into Friday. Snow accumulation is likely.
Saturday
Saturday, which marks the winter solstice, will be even colder, with highs in the mid to upper 20s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries. Nighttime temperatures will fall into the lower teens.
The next best chance of sunshine is not until Sunday. It will be just as cold as Saturday, but skies will be partly cloudy.
