Fog and rain will be the biggest weather impacts of Monday.
A dense fog advisory continues for all of Southeast Michigan until 10 a.m. Monday. Fog is reducing visibility down to one-quarter mile or less in many communities.
The fog is leading to hazardous conditions in Metro Detroit. Drivers should allow extra time, slow down, maintain distance from other vehicles, and use headlights and fog lights.
While conditions will be better when the advisory lifts, patchy fog will linger into the afternoon.
Rain will start to arrive before noon and last through the afternoon. A few spotty showers will remain until the early evening. Temperatures will rise to around 50 degrees. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 8 to 12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Monday night will be cloudy with a chance of patchy fog. Lows in the mid 30s.
Cooler air will start to push into Southeast Michigan on Tuesday. Under mostly cloudy skies, temperatures will peak in the lower to mid 40s. Lows will be around 30 degrees.
Rain and snow showers will return on Wednesday. Seasonable highs will be in the upper 30s, and lows will fall to the lower to mid 20s.
Highs will be in the lower 30s on Thursday and Friday. Skies will be mostly cloudy both days, but Friday will have the chance of a few snow showers.
Saturday, which marks the winter solstice, will be even colder with highs in the upper 20s. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries. Nighttime temperatures will fall into the teens.
