4Warn Weather – The start of 2025 could be a potentially mild and active couple of months to start the new year. That’s according to the latest long range outlook from the Climate Prediction Center.

It shows that precipitation is expected to be above normal from January through March. It’s worth noting that this includes rain and snow and everything in between.

In terms of snowfall, we usually pick up 14″ of snow in January, 12.5″ in February and 6.2″ in March.

That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll have a ton of snow though over these three months, as some of it will almost certainly fall as rain.

Michigan temperature outlook

When you look at the temperature outlook during this time period, we’re leaning towards slightly above normal temperatures.

That doesn’t mean every day will be above normal, we’ll definitely have some cold snaps, I’m sure, but the average over the three months is expected to be above normal.
