As a wintry mix moves through Southeast Michigan, winter weather advisories are in effect for most of the region.
The National Weather Service says a wintry mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet is expected across Metro Detroit Monday evening.
The weather could impact travel, and drivers should expect slow commute times and potentially slick roads.
Some residents can expect to see snow accumulations of a half inch to 3″ of snow, with lesser amounts south, and higher amounts closer to the Thumb.
As the region experiences this wintry mix, a winter weather advisory is in effect for the following counties through 1 a.m. Tuesday:
- Bay
- Genesee
- Huron
- Lapeer
- Livingston
- Macomb
- Midland
- Oakland
- Saginaw
- Sanilac
- Shiawassee
- St. Clair
- Tuscola
- Washtenaw
Monroe and Wayne counties are excluded from this list as the wintry mix isn’t expected to impact the two counties as much.
