After the winter weather moved out of the region late Monday night, we are starting our Christmas Eve on a damp note, with some patchy dense fog in some locations, and we will keep the damp weather around for the last minute holiday shopping or traveling with cloud cover remaining across the region. Temperatures starting off Tuesday morning into the lower 30s, and then not warming a lot, heading into the middle 30s by Tuesday afternoon.
The cloud cover sticks around through Christmas Day on Wednesday and into Thursday as temperatures will continue to warm up. High temperatures remaining into the upper 30s on Wednesday, and heading for the lower 40s by the time we get to Thursday.
Our next chance of rain moves into the region late Friday night and looking ahead into the upcoming weekend thanks to another area of low pressure and a frontal boundary heading our way. But the warm-up continues, high temperatures heading into the low to mid 40s by Friday, then the lower 50s for Saturday and Sunday with rain showers likely both days.
With that next chance of rain moving into the region, it looks like between Saturday and Sunday, we could see a healthy dose of rainfall heading into the region. That system moves out of the region late on Sunday night, and we keep the cloud cover into the forecast looking ahead into the start of next week. Temperatures remaining well above average, into the upper 40s by next Monday.
