Cloudy, cold in Metro Detroit with lingering flurries

Roads could be slick

DETROIT – A few lake effect snow showers or flurries are possible throughout the day today. Little to no accumulation is expected, but brief visibility reductions are possible. High temperatures will only top out on either side of 30. Winds will remain blustery today and tomorrow as well.

Sunset is at 5:13 p.m.

Overall, just cloudy and cold for the end of the week and weekend. A chance for light snow with minimal accumulations Friday morning generally south of I-96. Temperatures trend colder through the weekend and into early next week with morning wind chills dropping into the single digits and teens. We continue to keep a close eye on a wintry system tracking through the region late Sunday into Monday morning. However, the latest data keeps this Low pressure tracking into Indiana and Ohio. As long as we stay on the north side of the system, it will limit our accumulation chances. If this shifts farther north, that will bring notable changes to the forecast. However, as it stands now, it looks like just a few flurries in our southern communities Monday morning. Still waiting on sledding weather!
