Thursday
Be prepared for a cold and snowy start to Thursday. Wind chills in the coldest locations could be as low as 10 degrees below zero. The light snow will start before the morning commute, which could make rush hour slow and slick. The snow showers will begin to taper off in the afternoon with flurries lingering. Accumulation will be light and up to an inch. Highs will be in the lower 30s.
Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower to mid 20s.

Saturday
A wintry mix will be possible for Saturday, particularly for the first half of the day. Conditions are likely to be better closer to kickoff for the Commanders vs. Lions game in the evening. After afternoon highs in the lower to mid 30s, evening temperatures will be in the 20s.
A colder air mass will make its way over the Great Lakes region and send temperatures tumbling. The arctic air will arrive to Southeast Michigan with a vengeance. It will be the coldest air that we have seen this winter.

Tuesday’s highs will only be in the single digits with the lows below zero in some Southeast Michigan communities. The good news is that Metro Detroit’s official record low for the date will not be threatened. The thermometer measured -21 degrees on Jan. 21, 1984.
Tuesday’s temperatures will be well below the average high and low of 32 and 18 degrees, respectively.
