Another winter storm is expected to bring snow to Metro Detroit this weekend.

Here’s what to know about when the snow will make its way to the area and how much we’re expected to get.

Friday

The snow is expected to move through the region Friday night, likely around midnight.

Saturday

Saturday morning will be snowy. In the afternoon, there’s a chance for a wintry mix.

Those along and north of M-59 have a better chance of seeing snow, while there’s a better chance for rain further south toward Toledo.

By Saturday evening, 2-4 inches of snow is expected in Southeast Michigan. The light accumulation will be followed by heavier snow on Sunday morning.

Sunday

The snow is expected to be widespread and heavy Sunday morning, and continue falling through Sunday afternoon. The afternoon snow isn’t expected to be as heavy as the morning snow.

Snow totals

Snow totals will vary across the region, with less than 3 inches expected in communities closer to Ohio and up to a foot near the Thumb.

Most of Metro Detroit will get 4-8 inches of snow by Sunday, with higher amounts further north.
