Timeline, expected snow totals for winter storm heading to Metro Detroit this weekend

4-7 inches expected for most of Metro Detroit

Snow totals through Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, are expected to be 4-7 inches in Metro Detroit, with Lenawee and Monroe counties getting 2-4 inches. Areas north of I-69 could see 8 inches of snow or more. (WDIV)

Another winter storm is headed to Metro Detroit!

Here’s a timeline of when snow will move through the region this weekend and how much we are expected to get.

Midnight -- Saturday, Feb. 15

Wind chills on Friday will be around 10 to 12 degrees, and then snow will begin to move through Southeast Michigan at around midnight.

Morning -- Saturday, Feb. 15

When you wake up Saturday morning, it will be snowy. A brief transition to rain is possible in Metro Detroit, and precipitation will taper off in the afternoon, but fill back in during the evening hours.

Evening -- Saturday, Feb. 15

By Saturday evening snow totals in Southeast Michigan are expected to be 2-4 inches.

Roads are expected to be slippery for most of the day on Saturday, and it will also be snowy on Saturday night.

Southeast Michigan is expected to get 2-4 inches of snow by Saturday evening.

Afternoon -- Sunday, Feb. 16

The snowfall is expected to continue into Sunday afternoon for Southeast Michigan.

By Sunday, Metro Detroit is expected to get 4-7 inches of snow, with 2-4 inches expected in Lenawee and Monroe counties and around 8 inches or more north of I-69.
