Warm, wet, windy weather expected in Metro Detroit through midweek

Spring temperatures will also come with spring-like showers.

DETROIT – Grab the umbrella! Rain becomes more widespread through the morning rush hour drive on Tuesday. Highs will be around 50. As a warm front pushes through the region later this evening, periods of rain will return Tuesday night through Wednesday and even warmer air will advect into the area. Overnight, rain could be heavy at times.

Rain, snow coming Wednesday

Rainy and windy with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Most of the rain will push out before daybreak with scattered chances returning in the afternoon.

A transition from rain to snow occurs Wednesday night into Thursday morning as cold air is driven back in by northwesterly winds gusting near 40 mph. The duration of the snow will dictate if we see minor accumulations, but just a dusting can cause slick spots come Thursday morning.

Rest of the week

Conditions improve quickly Thursday as the associated low pressure system exits the Great Lakes, but we remain breezy.

We could see a few more snowflakes mix with rain on Friday for folks along and south of I-94. Some more sunshine and seasonal temperatures return for the weekend.

Don’t forget we spring the clocks forward Saturday night into Sunday morning. We will lose an hour of sleep, but sunsets will then be after 7pm starting on Sunday. Also, this is a reminder that it is also a good time to change the batteries in you smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Temperatures will be springing forward next week. We warm up again with 50s and even 60s possible!
