Wintery mix likely Friday afternoon in Metro Detroit before we spring clocks, temps forward

Well above average conditions return next week

DETROIT – A much calmer start to the day Friday. It’s a seasonally cool morning, but dry as clouds increase.

A rain/snow mix is likely mainly along south of I-94 later this afternoon and evening. Although, I can’t rule out the chance for some of this wet weather to push as far north as M-59, but it would be a slight chance. With temperatures climbing near 40, minimal accumulations are expected.

This weekend

We will be around 40 on Saturday and upper 40s on Sunday. There is a chance for a passing snow shower or mix in our northern communities Saturday night, but overall the weekend should be dry with some sunshine mixing in.

Next week

Well above average temperatures arrive to start the next work week with highs in the 60s by Tuesday. We will have rain chances and 50s to round out next week before we potentially get back into the 60s next weekend. The Climate Prediction Center has put our temperature outlook above average over the next two weeks.
