Metro Detroit is getting a reminder that it is still winter. Friday’s temperatures were near normal to just below normal in Southeast Michigan, and skies were cloudy with areas of snow showers.
Snow showers will be possible from M-59 and southward during the evening, but the better chance will be south of I-94. A few flurries will continue into the overnight hours as temperatures fall into the lower 20s. Moisture on the roadways could freeze up and result in slick conditions, especially on bridges. Be prepared for the possibility of icy roads. Westerly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
The weekend will begin slightly cooler than normal, but temperatures will jump.
Saturday
Saturday highs will be in the mid 30s to near 40 degrees. Expect some sunshine with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Winds will be out of the west and northwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday
Sunday, we will “spring forward” with the start of Daylight Saving Time and warmer weather. Under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, temperatures will be in the mid 40s to 50 degrees.
Expect clear skies on Sunday night. Lows will be in the lower 30s.
Looking Ahead
Increasingly warmer air will flow into Michigan. Highs will be in the mid 50s by Monday. Tuesday’s highs will be in the lower 60s, which is about 20 degrees above normal.
Highs will be in the 50s and 60s late week, with the next best chance of rain on Thursday.
