Sunshine, cold to start the weekend in Metro Detroit before rapid warm-up next week

Temperatures heading well above average next week

Rain chances return late Wednesday and into Thursday with the spring-like temperatures (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – We will dry things out and bring some much-needed sunshine into the forecast this weekend.

Expect partly cloudy skies as we work throughout the day on Saturday, we will keep the cold temperatures around. Daytime high temperatures heading into the upper 30s by the time we get to Saturday afternoon.

We will keep an eye on the radar through the evening into the overnight as a week disturbance moves off to the north of the region, so we will keep a little cloud cover around before the cloud cover breaks up into the overnight with the sky is going mainly clear. Overnight lows remaining into the 20s.

Sunday

Looking ahead into the end of the weekend on Sunday, high-pressure will build into the region and that will bring plenty of sunshine, and we will start to warm things up drastically. With a strong southerly flow, high temperatures will head into the upper 40s by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

Next week

We will keep the dry weather into the forecast for the first half of next week, mostly sunny skies will be expected Monday, and into Tuesday. And that warming trend will continue. High temperatures heading into the 50s by Tuesday, will give way to the 60s by the time we get to the middle of the week on Wednesday.

These temperatures will run about 20° or better above average. There’s also the potential that it could be a little breezy as we had throughout the day on Tuesday as we’re going to see some strong mixing bring some of those gusty winds down to the surface.

Temperatures will cool off by the time we get to the middle of the week on Wednesday thanks to a cold front that will move through the region as we throughout the day on Tuesday.

Our next chance of rain doesn’t move into the region until we get to late Wednesday and into Thursday, but other than that dry weather will be sticking around. High temperatures rebounding back into the 60s by the time we get to the end of next week on Friday.
