After a beautiful end to the weekend with sunshine and seasonable temperatures, we will continue with the dry weather looking ahead into the start of the week.
The sunshine will continue looking ahead into the start of the week on Monday, and with a southerly flow kicking in, temperatures will continue to get even warmer. High temperatures heading for the lower 70s by Monday afternoon.
Our next chance of thunderstorms looks to roll into the region as we work into our Tuesday. High temperatures, much warmer before that cold front rolls through that triggers the thunderstorms. High temperatures heading into the lower 80s by Tuesday afternoon.
There is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has re-introduced a Slight Risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather for most of Southeastern Michigan. As the cold front rolls through the region, we will see the potential for damaging wind gusts in excess of 65 MPH, along with heavy rainfall. Hail is possible, but winds will be the greater threat. The tornado threat is very low as we work into Tuesday. This cold front pulls out of the region by mid to late evening on Tuesday, and we break up the clouds overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
Drier weather returns for the middle of the week on Wednesday, but we will cool things down near reasonable temperatures. High temperatures returning to the low end of the 60s by Wednesday afternoon.
Looking heading to the end of the week, we do bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast for Thursday and Friday, high temperatures heading for the upper 60s to lower 70s on Thursday will drop into the lower 60s for Friday, before we dry things out looking ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. Temperatures getting just a tad bit colder, only making it into the lower 60s for the start of next weekend.
The sunshine looks to stick around into the second half of next weekend as well. Mostly sunny skies can be expected for Sunday. High temperatures getting a little bit warmer. We’ll head into the upper 60s by Sunday afternoon.
